In our farming work we have been looking at how plants need water. Plants do need there to be some water in the air. If it is very dry they lose a lot of water through the pores in their leaves. If there is not enough water in the soil then the plants cannot replace this water and then become sick.
The amount of water vapour in the air is called humidity.
We have tested different places around the school to find out where the humidity is best for our plants. The best humidity is between 50% and 60% (both for us and our plants!)
